Kerala, the southern-most state of India

The last portion of our trip to India was spent in Kerala where we spent three days in a houseboat in the backwaters. This was by far the most relaxing part of our entire vacation. Kerala and it's cities were less crowded and more mellow than in the northern states. There appeared to be less obvious evidence of previous cultures than elsewhere in India. The Dutch and Portugese influences are very visible, as of course is the English.
